Other Site Characteristics

Un des sites ligériens les plus remarquables par son originalité. Des milieux naturels incontournables tels que : - les habitats d'eaux courantes et stagnantes accueillant de nombreux poissons et autres animaux de l'Annexe II (Castor) ; - les pelouses et prairies de grèves et zones inondables ; - les forêts alluviales. Réhabilitation des plans d'eau d'extraction à vocation de loisirs. Urbanisation de loisirs. Extension des espèces exotiques. Abandon du pâturage.

4.2 Quality and importance

Milieux aquatiques hébergeant plusieurs espèces de poissons migrateurs devenus rares. Zones émergées en période estivale colonisées par un cortège floristique d'herbacées riches en espèces thermophiles similaires à la flore des grands fleuves africains. Des formations sèches telles les pelouses sur sables, très riches en espèces, se développent sur les berges sableuses. Les prairies de fauche de la plaine alluviale remarquables en espèces, alternent avec les forêts alluviales résiduelles de bonne qualité. Intèrêt très fort pour toutes les classes d'animaux dont beaucoup sont protégés ou classés aux Annexes II et IV de la directive Habitats.
