Other Site Characteristics

La géologie du site repose sur deux formations de craies séparées par une surface indurée. La couche inférieure dénommée "craie glauconieuse" a subi les attaques de l'eau souterraine, provoquant ainsi une dissolution de la craie, matérialisée par des fissures puis des galeries. Cette cavité a été générée par l'extraction de la pierre de taille. -menaces sur habitats participant à la fonctionnalité du milieu : paysages semi-ouverts, lisières, boisements feuillus, prairies, friches et vergers. -pratiques agricoles peu respectueuses du milieu : agriculture intensive, labourage, pesticides

4.2 Quality and importance

Le site de loisail se place comme le premier lieu d'hibernation en Basse-Normandie par le nombre total d'individus de chauves-souris. 10 espèces sur les 17 présentes en Normandie, ont été observées dans cette cavité.
