Other Site Characteristics

Le site a été fortement touché par la tempête du 26 décembre 1999. La moitié de la forêt a été détruite La population de grand Tétras peut être considérée comme au bord de l'extinction. Les conséquences de l'ouragan du 26/12/99 sur les populations sont encore difficles à évaluer.

4.2 Quality and importance

Massif forestier très bien conservé avec une hêtraie-sapinière de montagne. Ces milieux abritent une faune et une flore exceptionnelles. Trichomanes speciosum est présent sous forme de prothalle uniquement. La présence de nombreuses espèces végétales protégées tant au niveau départemental, régional que national reflète l'écosystème original du site.
