Other Site Characteristics

Le site comprend un linéaire de 100 kilomètres de cours d'eau. Les zones identifiées sont relativement peu vulnérables à condition que les différents acteurs locaux continuent à "travailler de concert pour le maintien de la biodiversité". Problème de cohérence, de répartition des tâches, etc.) Toutefois les seuils et les étangs posent des problèmes hydrauliques.

4.2 Quality and importance

Site éclaté regroupant l'ensemble des secteurs les plus remarquables de la Réserve de la Biosphère des Vosges du Nord. On y trouve des tourbières acides à différents stades d'évolution, des rochers, des pelouses sableuses, des lambeaux de forêts alluviales et ensemble de ruisseaux bordés de friches. A noter la présence d'Ophiogomphus cecilia à proximité de ruisseau du type sub-montagnard. Plusieurs gîtes à chiroptères composent également ce site Natura 2000 : des gîtes de mise bas du Grand murin situés dans les combles de plusieurs bâtiments ainsi qu’un site d’hibernation fréquenté par de nombreuses espèces, notamment le Vespertilion de Bechstein et la Barbastelle d’Europe.
