Belle vallée inondable de la Nied, incisant le plateau lorrain. Terrains sédimentaires avec marnes en fond de vallée et alluvions tourbeux. La vallée présente des pentes très peu accusées et traverse le plateau lorrain calcaire. Sensible aux variations de pratiques agricoles (intensification) de cette vallée inondable
