Réseau de salles et de galeries de 6 anciennes carrières souterraines. Visites occasionnelles perturbant les colonies de chauves-souris (feux, bruits, dérangements divers).

Un des sites régionaux majeurs pour l'hivernage des chiroptères (1400-1600 individus appartenant à 18 espèces). Site en relation avec 3 autres sites Natura 2000 : Carrières de Fief-de-Foye (FR5402002), Carrière de l'Enfer (FR5402001), Carrière de Bellevue (FR5402003) et Grotte de Rancogne (FR540407)
