Other Site Characteristics

Réserve d'eau circulaire construite en 1905, anciennement destinée à l'alimentation en eau des chevaux de l'école militaire de Niort. Actuellement propriété d'un syndicat d'eau. Même si une porte empêche l'intrusion dans la citerne, un risque de dérangement, même limité demeure. La citerne se situant au coeur du bourg de St-Ouenne, l'urbanisation en cours est susceptible de créer une dégradation du territoire de chasse des Chauves-souris. De même, une dégradation du maillage bocager et une diminution des activités d'élevage, liée aux évolutions des systèmes agricoles, diminueraient la qualité du territoire de chasse des colonies présentes.

4.2 Quality and importance

Site artificiel (citerne d'eau en pierre) présentant depuis plusieurs années une importante colonie d'hivernage de Grand Rhinolophe, et les plus importantes colonies de mise-bas de Grand Rhinolophe et Murin à oreilles échancrées des Deux-Sèvres.
