Other Site Characteristics

Site de la haute chaîne des Pyrénées centrales. Etagement de la végétation de l'étage montagnard au nival : géologie complexe (calcaire et silice). Fort risque de rupture du système sylvopastoral en faveur de la forêt.

Ecocomplexe avec de nombreuses espèces endémiques, en limite d'aire et de l'annexe II dont Lacerta bonnali, Ursus arctos (réintroduit), Galemys pyrenaicus, Rosalia alpina.
