Other Site Characteristics

Site éclaté au sein d'un vaste plateau calcaire ou dolomitique avec réseau karstique, gouffres et grottes. Les pelouses et les fourrés sont généralement en mosaïque. De très faible étendue, ce site pâti de l'abandon des terres (déprise agricole), de l'intensification de l'agriculture et de la proximité de l'Agglomération de Rodez (artificialisation des terres).

4.2 Quality and importance

Le relief, les conditions climatiques et la diversité des modes de gestion en harmonie avec les rythmes naturels en font un site assez important, en cohérence avec les objectifs de gestion et de conservation de la directive Habitats. Néanmoins, sa petite taille et ses contours illogiques rendent difficiles les contractualisations et la mise en place d'actions.
