Other Site Characteristics

Le site s'étend essentiellement sur des terrains du paléozoïque. Les deux-tiers nord du site correspondent à des terrains du Dévonien, comprenant des pélites, grès et calcaires. La partie sud du site appartient aux massifs granitiques de Cauterets. Les formations éruptives correspondantes (granites et granodiorites) y sont surmontées de terrains du Carbonifère (schistes et quartzites notamment). Conséquences possibles d'une déprise pastorale sur les formations de pelouses notamment.
