Other Site Characteristics

Le site a un relief caractéristique de la haute chaîne primaire des Pyrénées. Il est composé de vallées encaissées, dont les sommets alimentent sous l'effet de l'érosion de grandes zones d'éboulis situés à mi-pente. Déprise pastorale entrainant une évolution des pelouses vers des landes.

4.2 Quality and importance

Végétation caractéristique de la haute montagne pyrénéenne et des milieux humides et aquatiques d'altitude. Grande richesse floristique avec éléments très rares pour le secteur (Equisetum sylvaticum, Carex limosa, non revues dans le cadre du document d'objectifs) Espèces végétales endémiques, subendémiques, à aire disjointe ou en limite d'aire : 85 taxons.
