Other Site Characteristics

Les conditions climatiques locales résultent d'influences variées et complexes : le haut Diois se situe dans une zone climatique de transition entre régimes méditerranéen et atlantico-continental. De plus, l'altitude relativement élevée perturbe localement le climat. Nombreuses espèces végétales rares et menacées qu'il conviendra de prendre en compte dans la gestion forestière et pastorale pour éviter leur disparition.

4.2 Quality and importance

La végétation reflète bien l'ambiguïté du climat. En particulier la hêtraie-sapinière présente sur le site, de type delphino-jurassien, est une population relictuelle de l'arc alpin. Cette particularité est appuyée par la présence d'espèces végétales qui ne se trouvent que dans cette petite région (endémiques) comme l'Androsace de Chaix et la Saxifrage dauphinoise (endémiques delphino-provençales) ou le Cytise de Sauze (endémique dauphinoise).
