Other Site Characteristics
| La zone proposée correspond à la réserve naturelle du Delta de la Dranse (Haute-Savoie).
Les principaux aspects à prendre en compte sur ce site reposent sur la dynamique fluviale (et en particulier les flux solides) qui doit être conservée ou restaurée. Les îlots dénudés constituent en effet des milieux favorables pour la nidification de certaines espèces (Goéland cendré, Petit Gravelot, ...) ; leur maintien aidera au retour de la Sterne pierregarin.
La basse Dranse est très dégradée. Le régime hydrique est artificialisé par trois barrages sur les principaux affluents et les flux liquides et solides sont déséquilibrés. Le delta lui-même est contraint par les activités humaines. Des projets d'endiguement existent.
Situé à proximité de plusieurs agglomérations, le problème de la fréquentation du site doit également être étudié, car celle-ci peut nuire à la reproduction d'espèces sensibles au dérangement. |
4.2 Quality and importance
| Situé sur la rive sud du lac Léman, le site du Delta de la Dranse constitue une halte migratoire pour de nombreuses espèces d'oiseaux d'eau (Laridés, limicoles, anatidés, ardéidés, ...), ainsi qu'un site d'hivernage pour certaines d'entre elles.
Quelques espèces s'y reproduisent de façon régulière (Martin-pêcheur, Fuligule morillon, Grèbe castagneux, Mouette rieuse, ...) ou de manière plus exceptionnelle (Canard chipeau, Nette rousse, ...).
Le Delta de la Dranse est le seul site de reproduction en Rhône-Alpes du Goéland cendré. Cette petite colonie représente une part importante de la population française et est la plus méridionale d'Europe.
Ce site constitue l'un des lieux de chasse de certains rapaces (Faucon pélerin, Faucon hobereau, Epervier d'Europe, ...) ou de nourrissage d'autres oiseaux (Héron cendré, Harle bièvre, ...), sans qu'on ait prouvé à ce jour que ces espèces nichent sur le site lui-même.
La Sterne pierregarin est vue régulièrement en étape migratoire et a même tenté de se reproduire en 2001. |
