Other Site Characteristics

Maintien de la dynamique fluviale indispensable pour la conservation du site. Enjeu important du site pour l'avifaune. L'Allier est un axe de migration essentiel pour les espèces aquatiques, l'avifaune et un corridor de reconquête pour de nombreuses espèces végétales et animales. Une végétation halophile est présente à proximité des sources et marais salés. Artificialisation : enrochements, extraction de granulats, agriculture intensive, baisse de la nappe. 4.2 Quality and importance

Corridor fluvial de la rivière Allier sur la moitié sud du département du Puy-de-Dôme et plaine alluviale de l'Alagnon en aval de Lempdes-sur-Alagnon. Cortège de milieux naturels alluviaux liés à la dynamique fluviale active de la rivière, avec notamment forêts alluviales à bois tendres et à bois durs, habitats du lit mineur mais aussi prés salés localisés. Présence des grands poissons migrateurs et d'autres espèces liées au corridor fluvial. Enjeux liés à la dynamique fluviale, à la ressource en eau exploitée pour l'eau potable, à l'agriculture et à l'anthropisation du site liée à sa situation péri-urbaine des villes d'Issoire et Clermont-Ferrand.
