Other Site Characteristics
Le site comprend la partie inférieure de la rivière du Loup, sur plusieurs dizaines de kilomètres, et les grandes gorges calcaires qui l'entourent.
Les cavités servant de refuge aux chiroptères sont fréquentées par les promeneurs et les spéléologues, elles ont déjà subi des actes de vandalisme (1990). La partie du site proche de l'embouchure est menacée par l'urbanisation et l'aménagement de la rivière. |
4.2 Quality and importance
La chiroptérofaune est remarquable. Présence d'environ 25 grottes, dont 3 particulièrement propices aux chiroptères. Colonie importante de Minioptère de Schreibers (600 ind) à la Baume Granet, à proximité immédiate du site. Le réseau de galeries souterraines est très vaste et reste largement inexploré. Le site montre également une grande richesse floristique (nombreuses espèces rares et protégées).
Loutre : semble disparue. Dernière observation en 1934. Aucune observation récente d'indices, malgré des prospections ciblées en 2004.
Habitat 5230 "matorrals arborescents à Laurus nobilis" : cet habitat a été identifié comme présent sur le site lors des inventaires DOCOB. Une forêt pure de Laurus nobilis d'une surface de près d'un hectare existe sur le site à Bar-sur-Loup (le Devens), où les arbres s'élançent jusqu'à 15 m de hauteur et le tronc de certains individus atteint 40 cm de diamètre. Ce serait un cas unique en France, car cet habitat n'est théoriquement pas présent en France (ne serait présent qu'en Espagne d'après manuel EUR15). Le logiciel FSD ne permettant pas de saisir cet habitat, il a été rattaché à l'habitat 5310. La prise en compte ou non de cet habitat dans les listes nationales devra être validée par le MNHN. |
