Other Site Characteristics
Après avoir reçu les eaux de la Siagnole, la Siagne se fraie un chemin au travers de magnifiques gorges, creusées très profondément dans la zone des plateaux et des collines boisées.
- les milieux et les espèces liés à la rivière sont étroitement dépendants de la qualité de ses eaux.
- les gîtes des chauves-souris (grottes, avencs) sont très vulnérables à la fréquentation humaine.
- risque incendie.
- développement des activités de pleine nature (spéléologie, tout-terrain motorisé, VTT, escalade, canyoning, randonnée, etc) dont certaines sont susceptibles de perturber la faune ou de dégrader ponctuellement des habitats fragiles par nature (ex : tufs, mares temporaires, grottes).
- aménagements divers (urbanisme, ouvrages hydro-électriques, pistes...) générant une emprise et/ou une fragmentation des milieux naturels. |
4.2 Quality and importance
Ce site abrite des milieux naturels remarquables : la rivière aux eaux calcaires induit la formation de tufs, les forêts et fourrés alluviaux hébergent des espèces rares en Provence (Charme, certaines fougères). Une espèce végétale endémique et très localisée s'y trouve : Erodium rodiei. Les falaises accueillent des chênaies matures et sont percées d'importantes grottes à chauve-souris.
Concernant la faune, le site présente un intérêt particulier pour la conservation des chauves-souris. Au moins 13 espèces fréquentent le site, dont certaines en effectifs d'importance nationale : Minioptère de Scheibers (1000 à 3000 individus), Vespertilion de Capaccini (500 à 1000 individus). La rivière héberge de belles populations d'Ecrevisse à pattes blanches, ainsi que de Barbeau méridional. En outre, les inventaires réalisés dans le cadre du document d'objectifs ont mis en évidence la présence d'espèces de fort intérêt patrimonial mais à répartition très ponctuelle : Tortue d'Hermann (2 stations), Spélerpès de Strinati (1 station) et Vipère d'Orsini (1 station). |
