Other Site Characteristics

Secteur de gorges et leurs plateaux/plaines alentour. Les sites de reproduction et d'hibernation des chiroptères sont très vulnérables à la fréquentation humaine. Leur régime alimentaire (à base d'insectes) est affecté par les produits phytosanitaires (insecticides...) répandus sur les cultures.

4.2 Quality and importance

Les gorges participent à un écocomplexe remarquable avec d'autres milieux tels que tourbières basses, pelouses, chênaies pubescentes, etc. Les milieux rupestres et karstiques constituent un habitat pour diverses espèces de chiroptères d'intérêt communautaire. Le site est notamment une des rares stations varoises où l'on trouve le Rhinolophe euryale. La grotte aux chauves-souris constitue un gîte d'importance majeure pour la reproduction du Minioptère de Schreibers, du Murin de capaccini et du petit Murin. Ecrevisse à pieds blancs confirmée dans le site en 2015, sur un linéaire d'environ 1 km.
