Other Site Characteristics

Partie ouest du massif de la Sainte-Baume. Reliefs calcaires couverts principalement de forêts et garrigues. Le principal risque concerne les incendies de forêts du fait de la vaste couverture forestière du massif. Le développement de loisirs de pleine nature peut également provoquer un dérangement, notamment des aires de nidification de rapaces.

4.2 Quality and importance

Le site porte une responsabilité nationale pour la conservation de l'Aigle de Bonelli (2 couples nicheurs, soit environ 7 % de la population nationale). Le site accueille également une quinzaine d'autres espèces de la directive Oiseaux typiques des massifs calcaires de Provence (Circaète, Grand-duc d'Europe, Pipit rousseline, pies-grièches, fauvettes, etc.).
