4.2 Quality and importance

Small stream of continuous flow which is the only known area of distribution of rare Valencia letourneuxi in Corfu. Other regions, known from previous research, seem degraded and species was not found there in recent surveys (Kalogianni et al. 2006, Koutsikos et al. 2012). In this stream the endemic Directive Aphanius fasciatus and Pelasgus thesproticus is also found.
