  • Group: A = Amphibians, B = Birds, F = Fish, I = Invertebrates, M = Mammals, P = Plants, R = Reptiles
  • S: in case that the data on species are sensitive and therefore have to be blocked for any public access enter: yes
  • NP: in case that a species is no longer present in the site enter: x (optional)
  • Type: p = permanent, r = reproducing, c = concentration, w = wintering (for plant and non-migratory species use permanent)
  • Unit: i = individuals, p = pairs or other units according to the Standard list of population units and codes in accordance with Article 12 and 17 reporting (see reference portal)
  • Abundance categories (Cat.): C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present - to fill if data are deficient (DD) or in addition to population size information
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation); VP = 'Very poor' (use this category only, if not even a rough estimation of the population size can be made, in this case the fields for population size can remain empty, but the field "Abundance categories" has to be filled in)

Other Site Characteristics

The area encompasses Cetina river from its spring to the mouth as well as several Karst fields along the River: Paško, Suho, Sinjsko and Hrvatačko polje. Paško polje is mostly covered by extensive wet pastures, with several small marshes, flooded meadows and gravel banks. The area near Dinara foothills (Suho polje) is covered with dry grassland. Sinjsko polje is meliorated and mainly covered by arable land. Hrvatačko polje is covered with extensive grassland (wet and dry) and wetland habitats with abundant emergent vegetation. Bird community of river habitats is very poor as a result of negative impact of hidro-power plant Peruča. The site includes several protected areas on the national level: hydrological Natural monument Vrela Cetine, Significant landscapes Rumin, Ruda and Grab, and part of a Significant landscape Cetina - donji tok. Lithostratigraphic units represented in this area are limestone and dolomite (lower cretaceous - K1), limestones and dolomites (upper jurassic - J3), swamp sediments (b-bQ2), deluvial-proluvial sediments (a-dprQ2), etc. Soils: brown soil on limestone, rendzina soils on dolomite and limestone, rendzina on gravel, alluvial soils, etc. Cetina valley is divided into three sections: composite, canyon and flysch Cetina valley; the canyon is transverse to the Dinaric direction of spreading.

4.2 Quality and importance

- Information on birds population sizes was provided by the Institute for Ornithology (Zavod za ornitologiju, 2013). Numbers presented refer to estimations or exact data based as much as possible on recent surveys (data provided by the Institute staff and their field-work associates) - SPA Cetina is one of the three breeding sites for Acrocephalus melanopogon in Croatia, holding 67% of national population - SPA Cetina holds 25% of national breeding population of Calandrella brachydactyla and 13% of Circus pygargus - SPA Cetina holds the only breeding population of Redshank (Tringa totanus) in Croatia - Water Reservoir Peruča in SPA Cetina is the only registered breeding place of Goosander (Mergus merganser) in Croatia
