Other Site Characteristics

The site is located in the Mediterranean part of Croatia, between the towns of Vodice and Knin. The majority of the site is protected as a National park. The river Krka is an exceptional karst watercourse which flows through this site in all its length, located in a canyon. Important parts of the site are several calcareous sinter waterfalls, as well as numerous speleological objects and other karst features. Along with inland water bodies and karst features, the site is represented with dry grasslands, woodland and arable land.
