Other Site Characteristics

The site is situated by the abandoned saltpan Dinjiška on the west side of the Island of Pag. Association Juncetum Maritimo-acute (NKS F.1.1.2.1) develops in the shallow, muddy coast, sometimes under the influence of tidal flooding and the most common is where salt and fresh water mix (rainwater or small streams). Association Schoen-Plantaginetum Maritima (NKS F.1.1.2.2.) is known from the Island of Pag where even some aras are mowed. Develops on relatively dry, sandy-clayey and poorly saline soils on the coastline. Association Limonio-Artemisietum coerulescentis (NKS F.1.1.3.2.) develop in shallow sea. Mediterranean tall humid herb grasslands (6420) of the Molinio-Holoschoenion are used as pastures. Association Drypetum jacquinianae (NKS B.2.2.1.1.) develope at very movable Screes. On the Island of Pag often are developed on the secondary habitats of extremely degraded rocky pastures.
