Other Site Characteristics

The site is located in south of Croatia and includes middle flow of the River Cetina and Hrvatačko and Sinjsko field. Area is characterized by karst field, dry and wet grasslands important for many species.

4.2 Quality and importance

- site with abundant population of Chouardia litardierei - important site for fish species Aulopyge huegelii and Cobitis dalmatina (syn. C. taenia) - only important site for fish species Phoxinellus alepidotus inhabited with 100% known Croatian population - important site for habitat type 62A0 - site is important for 8310 Caves not open to public - 2 type localities: Troglohyphantes dinaricus (Vodena peća), Phagocata dalmatica - scientific description is only record of the species (Izvor Kosinac) - important Miniopterus schreibersii, Myotis capaccinii, Myotis emarginatus, Rhinolophus euryale i Rhinolophus ferrumequinum nurseries - important Miniopterus schreibersii, Myotis capaccinii, Rhinolophus blasii and Rhinolophus euryale migration site - one of few known Myotis capaccinii hibernacula - one of few known Rhinolophus blasii hibernacula - important Rhinolophus hipposideros hibernaculum - one internationally important underground site for Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, Myotis capaccinii i Myotis emarginatus - one internationally important underground site for Rhinolophus blasii, Rhinolophus euryale, Myotis capaccinii and Miniopterus schreibersii - this population is a remain of much bigger former population of river Cetina so this site is of great importance for the conservation of Austropotamobius pallipes in Dalmatian part of Croatia - the site is of importance for the conservation of Austropotamobius torrentium in Mediterranean Biogeographical region in Croatia - important site for Sub-Mediterranean grasslands of the Molinio-Hordeion secalini - ass.
