Other Site Characteristics

Below the southeastern part of the Velebit mountain, 15 km southeast of Obrovac, near village Kaštel-Žegarski. Includes 2 small hills - Veliki prosjek (657 m) and Mali prosjek (591 m) and a waste lowland. Cave Golubnjača has a hole entrance with the vertical of about 10 meters long after which stretch channels and halls in the length of about 800 meters.

- Golubnjača cave and Velika kusača cave represent important sites for bats - Golubnjača is also cave type locality for endemic species Troglohyphantes roberti dalmatensis found only in this cave - the largests Rhinolophus euryale hibernaculum in Croatia - important Rhinolophus hipposideros hibernaculum and nursery - internationally important underground site for Rhinolophus hipposideros
