Other Site Characteristics

Site includes marine area from cove Rasoka to cape Osičac on the west side of Pelješac peninsula. Biggest coastal settlement in the area is small town Loviste. The coast is mostly rocky and indented with numerous bays and coves. Lithostratigraphic units represented in this area are cretaceous rudist limestones (cenomanian-maastricht). Area was formed by sea transgression after the last glaciation. Presence of abrasion processes.
