Other Site Characteristics

The flat area is currently used as a military airport. Huge populations of souslik live here in dry grass habitat. The area is surrounded by a forest-belt. The base rock is dolomite.

Imperial eagle and short-toed eagle can be frequently observed.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Az országos szinten kiemelkedő ürge populáció fennmaradásának biztosítása. Specifikus célok: A terület fő célkitűzései: Az ürge (Spermophilus citellus) állománynagysága és állományának területi kiterjedése ne csökkenjen. Ennek érdekében élőhelyén a rendszeres kaszálásos vagy legeltetéses gyepkezelés biztosítása. A rendeltetésszerű és szükségszerű repülőtéri tevékenység körébe nem tartozó, az ürgeállományt megzavaró, illetve károsító tevékenységek visszaszorítása a területen. Kivételt képeznek a természetvédelmi céllal végzett tevékenységek (befogások, áttelepítések, tudományos céllal végzett kutatások). A repülőtéri infrastruktúra fejlesztése ne járjon együtt az ürge állomány élőhelyének feldarabolódásával, az ürgepopuláció szétaprózódásával, elszigetelődésével. További célok és végrehajtandók: A területen található cserjésedett gyepek legelőterületté alakítása. No nature conservation management plan exists for the area. Souslik habitats (dry grasses) needs to be regularly grazed.
