Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő fajok / élőhelyek kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása / helyreállítása: természetes eutróf tavak Magnopotamion vagy Hydrocharition növényzettel (3150) enyves éger (Alnus glutinosa) és magas kőris (Fraxinus excelsior) alkotta ligeterdők (Alno-Padion, Alnion incanae, Salicion albae) (91E0) vágó csík (Cobitis taenia) It is an oxbow of the River Tisza with valuable euhydrophite fen meadow vegetation. There are extensive riverine willow woodlands.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. SPECIFIKUS CÉLOK 1. FŐ CÉLKITŰZÉSEK A Tiszakeszi-morotvában és a holtmedrekben található hínárvegetáció (3150) természetességének megőrzése / helyreállítása, elsősorban a természetes vízszintingadozás biztosításával, különös tekintettel a vágó csík (Cobitis taenia) ökológiai igényeire; A területen található természetszerű ligeterdők (elsősorban fűzligetek /91E0/) kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása / elérése, idős állományrészek, faegyedek, valamint holt faanyag mennyiségének növelésével, az idős, elegyes erdők nyújtotta mikroklíma biztosítása. A fűzligetekben (91E0) a terjeszkedő idegenhonos fásszárúak visszaszorítása az erdőkezelési munkák során (ápolások, gyérítések); A hullámtéri rétek és mocsarak helyreállítása, elsősorban az idegenhonos gyalogakác visszaszorításával és a fenntartó utókezelések elvégzésével (legeltetéssel és/vagy kaszálással). 2. TOVÁBBI CÉLOK A területen megtalálható fasorok, erdősávok, kubikerdők fenntartása, felújítása, előtérbe helyezve az erdőgazdasági tájra jellemző, honos fafajokat (pl. kocsányos tölgy, mezei szil, mezei juhar, magyar kőris); A magassásrétek, ártéri magaskórósok beerdősülésének és benádasodásának megakadályozása cserjeirtással és kaszálással; A vöröshasú unka (Bombina bombina) és a dunai tarajosgőte (Triturus dobrogicus) élő- és szaporodó helyeit adó állóvizek, különösen időszakos mocsarak fennmaradásának biztosítása a hullámtér hidrológiai viszonyainak megőrzésével, a vizes és a szárazföldi időszakban történő élőhelykárosítás, szennyezés megelőzésével;
