Other Site Characteristics

The Geresdi-dombság is a loess-hill landscape which is mostly forested but on the lower parts the agriculture has been existing for a long time. In the large and continuous forests the seminatural stand are predominant, most of them illyrian types. The forest monocultures play secondary role but with invasive species. Beyond forests a few grasslands occur typically on the hillfoot area and vallyes.

Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő élőhelytípusok/fajok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása: 91K0 Illír bükk (Fagus sylvatica)-erdők (Aremonio-Fagion) 91L0 Illír gyertyános-tölgyesek (Erythronion-Carpinion) 9180 *Lejtők és sziklatörmelékek Tilio-Acerion-erdői Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő élőhelytípusok/fajok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének helyreállítása: 6240 *Szubpannon sztyeppek 9110 Mészkerülő bükkösök (Luzulo-Fagetum) Semi natural forest on a large area with high regional importance. Presence of protected plants with continental and mediterranean distribution and their habitats constitute the main value of the territory. At the non-forested areas the isolated population of Pulsatilla grandis on the steppic grassland is very valuable.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Fő célkitűzések: A jelölő közösségi jelentőségű élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése a rájuk jellemző, ritka és védett növény- és állatfajok életfeltételeinek biztosításával, állományuk és populációik életképességének növelésével. Az erdőgazdálkodási gyakorlatban természetközeli módszerek meghonosítása és általánossá tétele, őshonos fafajok egyedeiből visszahagyott holt fa jelenlétének folyamatos biztosítása, mennyiségének növelése. Erdőrészlet szinten a termőhelynek megfelelő elegyes, lehetőleg változatos korú, többszintű faállományt eredményező gazdálkodás bevezetése. A sztyeprétek megőrzése, fenntartása a cserjésedés visszaszorításával, valamint a legeltetés feltételeinek megteremtésével. További célok és célkitűzések: A vizes, illetve vízi élőhelyek természetes állapotát veszélyeztető antropogén hatások mérséklése, különösen a mezőgazdálkodás kedvezőtlen hatásainak csökkentése. A vizes, illetve vízi élőhelyek (patak menti társulások) megfelelő, a természetes folyamatokon alapuló vízellátásának és vízjárásának biztosítása. A vízfolyásokat kísérő éger-és egyéb puhafás társulások megőrzése. A homogén fafajösszetételű faültetvények, elsősorban az elegyetlen cseresek, természetközeli erdőtípusokká történő átalakítása. Inváziós fajok (pl. bálványfa, fehér akác) állományainak visszaszorítása, szerkezet átalakítása az erdőterületeken. A gyepek, irtásrétek fennmaradását veszélyeztető kedvezőtlen szukcessziós folyamatok visszaszorítása, megelőzése tisztítókaszálásokkal, legeltetéssel. A területet érintő részletes felmérések elkészítése, kiemelt figyelemmel a terület jelölő és egyéb közösségi jelentőségű fajaira és élőhelyeire.
