Other Site Characteristics

The site is formed by two extensive near natural forest patches at the border areas seminatural dry grasslands with numerous protected and rare species. The hills loess-formed topography gives place to some habitats of higher elevations. In the valleys of hillfoots the grasslands are also valuable where a population of Spermophilus citellus lives.

Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő élőhelytípusok/fajok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása: 91L0 Illír gyertyános-tölgyesek (Erythronion-Carpinion) 6250 *Síksági pannon löszgyepek 91H0 *Pannon molyhos tölgyesek Quercus pubescensszel Barbastella barbastellus, Myotis bechsteini, Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő élőhelytípusok/fajok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének helyreállítása: 91K0 Illír bükk (Fagus sylvatica)-erdők (Aremonio-Fagion) 91I0 *Euro-szibériai erdőssztyepptölgyesek tölgyfajokkal (Quercus spp.) 91M0 Pannon cseres-tölgyesek Rich in species and regionally very important natural habitats in an agricultural landscape. The illyrian types are very important because they are at a border position of the biogeographical region. The small remnants of steppic woodlands are unique.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Fő célkitűzések: A gyepes területek megfelelő kezelésének biztosítása legeltetéssel vagy kaszálásal, valamint a cserjésedés visszaszorításával. A löszsztyepp és erdősztyepp élőhelyeken időszakos és kíméletes legeltetésének biztosítása. A biogeográfiai szempontból határhelyzetű illír erdei élőhelyek védelmének biztosítása A területen található vizes élőhelyek megőrzése. A természetes erdőterületeken azállandó erdőborítottság fenntartása, természetközeli erdőgazdálkodás bevezetése, megfelelő idős faállomány és holt faanyag megtartása. A bükkös állományok kímélete. Az erdősszytepp élőhelyek kiemelt védelme, a beerdősülő domblábi területeken az élőhely területének növelése. A inváziós növényfajok (pl. fehér akác, bálványfa, selyemkóró, aranyvessző) visszaszorítása. További célok és célkitűzések: Megfelelő vízállapot fenntartása a vizes élőhelyeken. A túlnyomó részt mezőgazdasági, lakó és ipari területekkel övezett természetközeli és féltermészetes élőhelyek védelmének biztosítása, a kedvezőtlen hatások kiküszöbölése A terület jelölő erdőállományaiban a közösségi jelentőségű és az élőhelyre jellemző fajok (Doronicum hungaricum, Lychnis coronaria, Lilium martagon) megőrzése érdekében a fajok ökológiai igényeihez igazodó szerkezeti jellemzők fenntartása, illetve kialakítása, a fészkelő madárfajok esetében (Haliaeetus albicilla, Aquila pomarina, Ciconia nigra) fészek körüli pufferzóna kijelölése. A területet érintő részletes felmérések elkészítése, kiemelt figyelemmel a terület jelölő és egyéb közösségi jelentőségű fajaira és élőhelyeire.
