Mainly dry steppic grasslands on sand soil with some mesophile grasslands and small spontaneous bush and forest patches.

Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő élőhelytípusok/fajok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása: 6260 *Pannon homoki gyepek 6510 Sík- és dombvidéki kaszálórétek (Alopecurus pratensis, Sanguisorba officinalis) Spermophylus citellus Iris humilis ssp. arenaria Very valuable habitat for a large population of Spermophilus citellus and important sand steppic grassland.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Fő célkitűzések: A gyepes területek megfelelő kezelésének biztosítása: a cserjésedés megelőzése kíméletes legeltetéssel, kaszálással. Az ürge állomány fenntartása a homoki gyepek legeltetése útján. A homoki nőszirom populáció védelme, az állománycsökkenés megelőzése a homoki gyep megfelelő legeltetésével. További célok és célkitűzések: A túlnyomó részt mezőgazdasági, lakó és ipari területekkel övezett természetközeli és féltermészetes élőhelyek védelmének biztosítása, a kedvezőtlen hatások kiküszöbölése A területen található vizes élőhelyek megőrzése A terület szárazodó láprétjeinek kedvezőbb természetvédelmi helyzetbe hozása, becserjésedésük megakadályozása. A nem őshonos fafajokból (fehér akác, erdei fenyő) álló erdőállományok termőhelynek megfelelő őshonos állományokká történő átalakítása. Megfelelő vízállapot fenntartása a vizes élőhelyeken. A közösségi jelentőségű növényfajok (Eleocharis caniolica, Sphagnum spp.) és a jelölő élőhelytípusok ritka és karaterfajai (Iris pumila, Iris humilis, Stipa borysthenica, Orchis morio, Dianthus superbus, Alkanna tinctoria, Orchis militaris, Listera ovata, Eriophorum latifolium) védelme érdekében az élőhelyeik fokozott kímélete. A homoki gyepen terjedő inváziós növényfajok (fehér akác, bálványfa, selyemkóró, aranyvessző) terjedésének megállítása.
