Other Site Characteristics

Half of the territory is covered by good quality steppic grasslands with a population of Spermophilus citellus. The other half is covered by characterless turkey-oak and alien pine and acacia plantations. On the northern part in the forests branch canals occur.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Fő célkitűzések: A túlnyomó részt mezőgazdasági, lakó és ipari területekkel övezett természetközeli és féltermészetes élőhelyek védelmének biztosítása, a kedvezőtlen hatások kiküszöbölése, a területen a gépkocsival történő áthajtás, terepmotorozás és terepkerékpározás, valamint a homokbányászat fokozatos felszámolása. A területen található vizes élőhelyek megőrzése, a tájidegen feketefenyő terjedésének visszaszorítása. A terület szárazodó láprétjeinek kedvezőbb természetvédelmi helyzetbe hozása a vízháztartásuk javításával. A terület homoki sztyeprétjeinek megőrzése a cserjésedés visszaszorításával, valamint legeltetés útján. Az adventív fajok (pl. fehér akác, bálványfa, fekete fenyő, selyemkóró) terjedésének megállítása. További célok és célkitűzések: Megfelelő vízállapot fenntartása a vizes élőhelyeken. A közösségi jelentőségű gyepes élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása az élőhelyekre jellemző, védett növényfajoknak (pl. Iris pumila, Stipa borysthenica, Orchis morio, Dianthus superbus, Alkanna tinctoria, Gentiana pneumonanthe, Parnassia palustris) megőrzésével.
