Stagni di origine naturale, alimentati da risorgive, con profondità medie delle acque non superiore al metro; la zona umida ha le caratteristiche di palude in avanzata fase di interramento. I bacini sono in parte delimitati da rive sopraelevate di origine antropica.

4.2 Quality and importance

E' una delle zone umide più importanti del Piemonte per l'avifauna palustre nidificante. Notevole popolazione di Emys orbicularis. Riscontrata la presenza di Sympecma peadisca.
