Area planiziale caratterizzata da ambienti umidi, zone marginali di bosco di scarsa importanza botanica circondate da risaie e settori ecotonali.

4.2 Quality and importance

L'importanza dell'area è legata essenzialmente alla presenza di due colonie plurispecifiche e molto numerose di ardeidi, situate l'una in una piantagione di abete rosso e pino strobo, l'altra, a pochi km di distanza, in una formazione boschiva a prevalenza di robinia ai margini del Fontanone S. Antonio (parte di un complesso di risorgive presso Cascina Berta).
