Il territorio del sito è caratterizzato da praterie sassose su suolo calcareo, con boschi di roverella e pareti rocciose strapiombanti.

4.2 Quality and importance

Le caratteristiche climatiche della zona, permettono la presenza di una vegetazione di tipo mediterraneo, che consente la riproduzione di alcune specie ornitiche pressochè assenti nel resto della Regione; segnalate 16 specie di Allegato I Direttiva 79/409/CEE, mentre riguardo alla mammalofauna si evidenzia la presenza di alcune cavità sotterranee che ospitano importanti siti di svernamenti di chirotteri di Allegato II 92/43/CEE.
