Other Site Characteristics
Il territorio ospita litotipi ascrivibili ad un flysch a prevalenza di marne e arenarie calcaree.
Si tratta di un massiccio rilievo che culmina alla quota di m 1627.
Solo alle quote inferiori gli impluvi ospitano stabilmente acqua.
Il sito include gran parte della Foresta Demaniale Regionale "M. Ceppo" di 1021 ha. Di particolare pregio è la faggeta, annosa e ben assestata. Sui versanti N., E., O. sono molto estese le zone boscose neglette dall'uomo. |
4.2 Quality and importance
Si tratta di un massiccio rilievo che raggiunge una quota elevata pur essendo abbastanza prossimo al mare. Zone di basso livello qualitativo (pinete a Pinus pinaster danneggiate, rimboschimenti densissimi inidonei) convivono con aree boschive di notevole pregio e con siti il cui disturbo antropico è inesistente. Di particolare pregio è la faggeta, annosa e ben assestata. Sui versanti N, E, O sono molto estese le zone boscose neglette dall'uomo ed in buon stato di conservazione.
Sono presenti un habitat di interesse prioritario, varie specie dellallegato II della direttiva 92/43 CEE, endemiti e specie protette da direttive/convenzioni internazionali. |
