Other Site Characteristics

Il substrato geologico è costitutio da conglomerati in prevelaenza calcareo arenacei e argilliti. La parete occidentale della falesia ha una notevole imponenza. Sulle pendici sono relativamente gli uliveti.

4.2 Quality and importance

Il sito è caratterizzato da una collina emergente tra due aree pianeggianti fortemente antropizzate. Sul lato occidentale è presente una scenografica falesia in rocce argillitico-arenacee, con curiose forme di erosione. Su questa falesia il paleoendemismo Ballota frutescens (rarissimo e proposto dalla Regione Liguria per l'inclusione nell'All. 2 della direttiva 92/43 CEE) e una discreta fioritura di orchidee a gravitazione mediterranea costituiscono i motivi di maggior pregio. Sono presenti habitat di interesse prioritario e specie rare o protette ai sensi di direttive/convenzioni internazionali.
