Area di versante con limitate zone di fondovalle, depressioni carsiche con importanza paesaggistica e speleologica. Affiorano conglomerati poligenici, arenarie, quarziti, calcari dolomitici e dolomie.

4.2 Quality and importance

Il sito comprende due subsiti in area carsica con interessanti manifestazioni geomorfologiche (doline, inghiottitoi, grotte, forre) e copertura di boschi misti, con prevalenza di querce, alternate a zone prative. I contatti tra aspetti seminaturali e coltivi aumentano il livello di biodiversità faunistica. Sono presenti habitat di interesse prioritario, Chirotteri dellallegato II (92/43 CEE), varie specie protette ai sensi di direttive/convenzioni internazionali ed endemiti troglobi di rilevante interesse.
