Other Site Characteristics

Sono presenti aree di spartiacque, zone terrazzate di varia origine, piane in quota e corsi d'acqua. Il lago val Noci è di origine artificiale con sponde piuttosto ripide. Affiorano calcari del M. Antola (calcari marnosi, marne calcaree e argillose in sequenze ripetute ritmicamente. Presso il M. Alpe sono presenti anche diaspri.

4.2 Quality and importance

Il sito, che comprende un invaso artificiale di medie dimensioni, è caratterizzato da valli e rilievi con alternanze di boschi e praterie e con piccole zone umide e grotte. Sotto i profili floristico e vegetazionale il maggiore interesse è rivestito dai prati umidi. L'invaso favorisce l'utilizzo del sito da parte della fauna ornitica migratoria come area di sosta. Sono presenti habitat e specie prioritari per la 92/43 CEE e numerosi endemiti dei quali uno è stato proposto dalla Regione Liguria per linclusione nellallegato II di detta direttiva (Vulda doderoi).
