Other Site Characteristics

La prateria di Posidonia è impiantata su matte e su sabbia. Sulle rocce sommerse della Punta si etende un ricco Coralligeno con varie specie di gorgonie. A levante della prateria si estende una zona a Cymodocea.

4.2 Quality and importance

Il sito presenta una interessante prateria a Posidonia (habitat di interesse prioritario) che si estende su sabbia e su "matte", in alcuni punti essa confina con massi e siti rocciosi che presentano aspetti di Coralligeno (habitat proposto come prioritario dalla Regione Liguria) di notevole valore. Nel sito sono presenti Spongia agaricina, Spongia officinalis, Spondylus gaederopus, specie in rapido corso di rarefazione a causa dell'eccessivo prelievo e che sono state proposte dalla Regione Liguria per l'inserimento nell'allegato V. Esemplari della specie pelagica Tursiops truncatus sono stati avvistati occasionalmente entro i limiti del sito.
