Other Site Characteristics

La zona interessata da un tratto della piana alluvionale del Fiume Vara e dal fondovalle del Rio Borsa. Sono presenti ofioliti costituite da serpentiniti, breccie, gabbri e breccie di gabbro.

4.2 Quality and importance

Nel sito sono presenti lembi di bosco ripario in discrete condizioni di conservazione, specie ed habitat prioritari della direttiva 92/43 CEE, vari taxa protetti ai sensi di direttive/convenzioni internazionali ed endemiti di particolare rilevanza. Il sito ospita inoltre una popolazione di Potamon fluviatile (specie estremamente rara in liguria) che riveste un interesse biogeografico (limite dellareale) regionale/nazionale
