4.2 Quality and importance

L'area rappresenta una delle zone umide meglio conservate del Parco Adda Nord; la sua importanza per l'avifauna è confermata dalla varietà di specie nidificanti e svernanti, e dalla presenza di numerose specie di interesse comunitario. E' presente una garzaia di airone cinerino. L'area è altresì importante per la presenza di Rana latastei. Dal 2002 è attiva una stazione di inanellamento a scopo scientifico secondo il progetto P.R.I.S.C.O. coordinato dall'INFS.
