4.2 Quality and importance

Buona la qualità complessiva del sito, caratterizzato da elevata varietà e discreta struttura degli habitat; estremamente significativo il fatto che il sito costituisca una delle ultime aree di presenza di Tetrao urogallus nel versante meridionale delle Alpi Orobie. L'importanza faunistica dell'area è notevole: sono presenti i tetraonidi Tetrao tetrix e Bonasa bonasia. Tra gli strigiformi si segnalano Bubo bubo e Aegolius funereus, quest'ultimo legato a Dryocopus martius, presente in zona. Questo picide assieme alle altre citate costituisce un ottimo indicatore della qualità forestale. Nel complesso nel Sic sono ben rappresentate tutte le specie di avifauna a distribuzione boreoalpina e eurosibirica.
