4.2 Quality and importance

Sebbene inserito in un contesto fortemente antropizzato, il sito appare meritevole da un punto di vista naturalistico, in quanto costituisce un campione significativo della serie evolutiva degli ambienti umidi e risulta importante anche per il mantenimento della biodiversità degli habitat naturali inseriti in una zona agricola, ecologicamente molto appiattita. Presente una componente faunistica significativa, in particolare per quanto riguarda l'avifauna, con specie di interesse comunitario e numerose specie caratteristiche degli ambienti umidi.
