Other Site Characteristics

Substrato geologico costituito da gneiss, filladi e micascisti. Caratteristico ontaneto con copertura arborea del 90% e a prevalenza di A. glutinosa. Nel Biotopo grazie a lievi variazioni pedologiche e nel livello di falda freatica si sono formati numerosi microambienti diversi.

4.2 Quality and importance

Uno degli ultimi boschi igrofili della Provincia con una caratteristica micro e mesofauna. Questo ambiente pur nella sua limitata estensione risulta estremamente diversificato ed e' molto importante per i passeriformi insettivori, in forte calo numerico e minacciati nella maggior parte dei paesi europei.
