Other Site Characteristics

Vasta area palustre a nord del Lago della Serraia (Altopiano di Piné); la vegetazione è data da prati umidi di megaforbie, una volta sfalciati. Lungo le rive del lago è sviluppata una fascia di magnocariceti, che sono progressivamente invasi dalla canna d'acqua. Sono presenti habitat di particolare interesse non compresi nell'all.I della direttiva 92/43/CEE, in particolare: Magnocaricion (Caricetum rostratae) (10%), Phragmition (canneti) (15%).

4.2 Quality and importance

Relitto di ambiente palustre sulle rive di un lago, importante per la notevole estensione delle associazioni di megaforbie, a contatto con la vegetazione lacustre. Si tratta di un biotopo di vitale importanza per la riproduzione di molte specie di anfibi e rettili. Presenza di invertebrati dell'allegato II che indicano buona naturalità delle acque correnti.
