Other Site Characteristics

Ampia conoide quasi pianeggiante, formata da depositi alluvionali in prevalenza ghiaiosi, che si trova alla foce dell'Avisio nell'Adige, occupata da vegetazione pioniera dei greti fluviali e da vegetazione ripariale arbustiva e arborea.

4.2 Quality and importance

L'importanza del sito è dovuta alla presenza di un frammento di ambiente ripariale di fondovalle, distrutto quasi ovunque. Il sito è inoltre di rilevante importanza per la nidificazione, la sosta e/o lo svernamento di specie di uccelli protette o in forte regresso, e/o a distribuzione localizzata sulle Alpi. Presenza storica di lepidotteri compresi nell'allegato II e propri di zone umide integre, ora in forte declino. Presenza di invertebrati dell'allegato II che indicano buona naturalità delle acque correnti.
