Other Site Characteristics

Cei è un lago di tipo eutrofico situato alla testata della valle omonima (Gruppo del M. Bondone) con abbondante vegetazione di idrofite natanti e sommerse e circondato da una fascia di canneto, con alcuni lembi di cariceto; Prà dell'Albi è una palude con prati umidi e un magnocariceto, situata in un bacino nei pressi di quello di Cei. Nelle zone circostanti i due bacini sono sviluppate ovunque faggete calcicole ad impronta termofila. Sono presenti habitat di particolare interesse non compresi nell'all.I della direttiva 92/43/CEE: Caricetum elatae (10%), Phragmition (10%).

4.2 Quality and importance

L'interesse del sito è dovuto alla vegetazione della palude e all'eccezionale sviluppo di idrofite natanti e sommerse nel lago, con relativo orlo di elofite. Si tratta di un biotopo di vitale importanza per la riproduzione di molte specie di anfibi e rettili, nonchè di interesse ornitologico per la presenza di specie tipiche dell'avifauna alpina.
