Other Site Characteristics

Sperone roccioso porfirico fra la Val dei Mocheni e l' Altopiano di Piné (Trentino orientale) con foreste di pino silvestre, faggio e alcuni nuclei di querceto di rovere; nelle radure del bosco si trovano torbiere e paludi, con cariceti e prati umidi. Sono presenti habitat di particolare interesse non compresi nell'all.I della direttiva 92/43/CEE: Caricion fuscae (torbiere acidofile) (10%), Molinion (acidofilo) (20%), Quercion pubescenti - petraeae (10%).

4.2 Quality and importance

L'interesse è dovuto ad alcuni ambienti umidi (torbiere e paludi) in radure in mezzo a boschi di latifoglie e conifere, con specie molto rare. Si tratta di un biotopo di vitale importanza per la riproduzione di molte specie di anfibi e rettili.
