Other Site Characteristics

Lago di esarazione glaciale sull'Altopiano porfirico del M. Calisio, situato fra la Val di Cembra e la Valsugana, con una cintura di vegetazione di idrofite natanti e sommerse e di elofite; nei pressi del lago si trova una piccola palude con cariceti, canneti e un folto strato muscinale. La zona circostante è occupata da foreste di pino silvestre. Sono presenti habitat di particolare interesse non compresi nell'all.I della direttiva 92/43/CEE: Phragmition (10%).

4.2 Quality and importance

L'importanza del sito è dovuta al lago con relativo orlo di vegetazione elofitica e alla piccola palude con una rara vegetazione muscinale. Si tratta di un biotopo di vitale importanza per la riproduzione di molte specie di anfibi e rettili.
