Other Site Characteristics

Il sito è costituito da bacini di itticoltura intensiva e dalla Cassa di espansione del Canale di S.Giovanni che ha una estensione di circa 30 ettari e acque poco profonde. Presenza di estesi Fragmiteti e Tifeti.

Una delle zone umide più importanti dell'Emilia centrale per Emys orbicularis. Sito di alimentazione e sosta per numerose specie ornitiche.
